Our Dear Heavenly Father,
    Dear God, before I begin this prayer, will you please get Roger Davis, his relatives, and Miss Kitty [recently deceased mother of Ric Shepherd, one of Roger's best friends] so we can speak to them . . .

    God, thank you for this beautiful day. Thank you for the safe attendance of some of Roger's relatives and friends.

    Roger, sorry this memorial dedication service has taken so long to occur, but you should know that most of us are on "boat time!" Rog, we know that God could have taken you to be with him many years ago, but he allowed you to stay - to touch all of us with your big smile, your hugs, your wit, and your love of music.

While you were here you were a great son, relative, co-worker, and friend. You made us smile with your wit, you made us feel good with your love, and you made us happy with your laughter. Also, you made us feel full with your cooking!

    While you are in Heaven, please make sure you do the following:
-- Speak well with God concerning those that you left behind,
-- Dance often with Miss Kitty,
--Sing and listen to some of the best musicians who are there,
--Learn more recipes from esome of the greatest cooks who are also in Heaven,
--Learn new jokes, as some of yours were above our understanding.

Roger, thanks for being part of our lives. Thanks for being our son, our relative, and our friend. Look over this part of the Intercoastal Waterway and think of us. Finally,   fair winds, and may God bless you. Oh, please ask that God helps Stu to a complete and speedy recovery.
